What to Expect on Your Tour

Too many visitors sign up for a flamenco show without really knowing what they’re about to watch, or go out for tapas without knowing the art of navigating Madrid’s tapas bars like a local. Join us for a night of flamenco and tapas, where an expert guide will lead you around Madrid’s tapas bars, teaching you how to do tapas like a local and walking you through the history of this beautifully tragic dance. In between delicious bites, you’ll learn where flamenco came from and why Madrid’s considered the capital of it all! And then, after a heart-stopping one-hour show, you’ll then head to a nearby restaurant to sit down to a hot-off-the-grill tapas feast—the perfect moment to discuss what you’ve just seen!

Start your night out with the classic Madrid aperitif—a glass of sweet vermouth straight from the tap! You’ll pair it with a classic tapa found all over the city—tostas, or open-faced toasts topped with all sorts of tasty ingredients.

On our way to the next tapas joint, your expert guide will show you why flamenco is so much more than the dance as you pop into a traditional flamenco guitar shop.

Next up, you’ll sit down to enjoy a delicious plate of cured meats and cheeses while your guide prepares you for the heart-stopping show you’re about to see!

Then it’s time for the show! Get ready for an hour of raw emotion paired with traditional dancing, and masterful guitar playing and singing.

To finish up the night, you’re off to experience a delicious sit-down dinner full of traditional Spanish tapas! You’ll enjoy hot-off-the-grill dishes like patatas bravas, prawns, Padrón peppers and more! It’s the perfect moment to share great food and wine while going over what you’ve all just witnessed!

And as with all Devour Madrid tours, your guide will give you a copy of our Devouring Madrid guide, which is packed with all our favorite places to eat and drink in the city! So put down your guidebook and get ready to experience Madrid like a local!

*Please note that this tour shares two stops with our Huertas Neighborhood Food & Market Tour. It is not recommended to take both of the tours during your stay in Madrid.

Great question! A Devour Madrid food tour is a fun, fascinating and (most importantly!) delicious introduction to the majestic city of Madrid. Our food tours visit some of the city’s best traditional eateries, including tapas bars, local markets, taverns and shops, and hidden gems that few even know exist! You’ll taste some of Madrid’s best local food, and gain fascinating insight into its age-old traditions. We keep our groups small and every tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows Madrid like the back of their hand, and loves it to bits.
You’ll enjoy a 2-in-1 experience that combines delicious tapas (enough for a full dinner) at three traditional Madrid taverns and entry to a 50-minute flamenco show at Cardamomo, one of the best venues in town (one drink is included during the show). You’ll learn how to tapas-hop like a local, and your guide will give you a rich understanding of flamenco so you can better enjoy the show. Throughout you’ll learn about the food and wine you’re eating and drinking and come away with a deeper appreciation of Madrid and Spain’s culture. You’ll be led by a knowledgeable and fun English-speaking guide and Madrid expert. Plus, when you book you’ll receive a link to our Devouring Madrid mini-guide, packed with recommendations so you’ll eat well before and after your tour! And at the end of the tour, you'll get our Flamenco Guide, with lots of recommendations for albums, movies and books so you can continue your flamenco journey!
