What to Expect on Your Tour

This walking wine tasting tour takes place across three of Madrid’s best tucked-away wine bars in the hip Malasaña and Chueca neighborhoods. You’ll visit family-run taverns and wine bars to try delicious vermouth on tap, unique white wines and fortified sherry wines, and hot-off-the-grill tapas washed down with full-bodied reds. Your expert guide will lead you through the complete Spanish wine experience, and by the end you’ll know exactly how to do tapas like a local (and properly order a glass of wine in Spain!)

Start your night off in true Madrid style—surrounded by locals as you sip vermouth and nibble on some of Spain’s most emblematic tapas. Your expert guide will let you in on the secret to this local aperitif tradition!

Next, you’ll be whisked away to a family-run wine bar that specializes in wine from La Mancha, with their signature wine coming straight from the owner’s own vineyards! Sample white wines paired with a selection of delicious cheese hailing from all across the country.

Then you’ll visit what is undoubtedly one of Madrid’s leading wine bars. Sample Spain’s most unique—and largely misunderstood—sherry wines, and pair them with a delicious selection of unique local cured meats. And of course, no foray into Spanish wines would be complete without enjoying a glass of red wine from Madrid itself, paired with gourmet tapas, and finished off with something sweet at the end!

By the end of the night, you’ll know exactly what it means to do tapas like a local and will have a new appreciation for Spain—the world’s largest vineyard and the sleeping giant of the wine world—and its delicious wines.

And as with all Devour Madrid  tours, your guide will give you a copy of our Devouring Madrid guide, which is packed with all our favorite places to eat and drink in the city! So put down your guidebook and get ready to experience Madrid like a local!

You’ll try at least 8 tapas, enough for dinner. All tastes are subject to change based on seasonality and our vendors’ holiday schedules, but we guarantee they’ll always be delicious!
